so do you think it could be a virus, or my pc on the way out, or just a stupid pc thing that might right itself if it feels like!

it could be all sorts of things , have you got any insurance to cover it
seriously though it is always difficul to diagnose something like this without sitting in front of the pc

Yeah, the eventlog...here goes:
1) Go to Start > Run > type "eventvwr".
2) Click on Application on the left then double click the ones which have an error.
3) Copy and paste a couple of them into here.
Also, do the same for the System part.

it wont let me copy them but they are mostly from internet explorer, but it wont show the ones that could have been faulty today cause i had to use norton goback
