after the first time it did it, i ran my antivirus through it and adaware but it picked nothing up, any ideas? pleases help :(

Your PC not overheating is it?

Re: erratic shut down!!

does it give you an error message or a warning when it is going to shutdown or just power off?

when it goes off, does it automatically restart or just stay turned off?

Re: erratic shut down!!

i dont think my pc is overheating, and when it restarts its just as instant as that no warning no message no nothing!
this last time though when i was tryng to get it back on and it wouldnt, i had to try and shut it down again, a message came up norton trying to end programe, then internet explorer trying to end programe and then smartbridge alerts trying to end programe. what is smartbrige?

strange... how frequently does it happen?

try running the computer in safe mode for a while and see if it still happens (hit f8 during bootup and chose safe mode with networking)

this should give a better indication of whether it is a software or hardware issue.

IIRC smartbridge is related to correct connect /bbmedic... according to google it is the worlds most popular freeware bridge game

can you recreate the problem by scrolling through the favourites menu again? or does it not happen every time that you do it?
