The network name is stored in the phone - sounds like your 3310 is older than Virgin so it displays One2One (the old name for T-Mobile).
It is not a problem (it will not stop you doing anything). The only way to change it is to update the phone's firmware.

Re: Do Virgin Mobile use the TMobile Network?

if your phone has WAP - you should be able to download a new operator logo. or alternatively if you take it to your local market a trader might be able to access your phone and download a new logo - perhaps one with your name on it.

OK, Nokia phones have a graphic called the operator logo that can be changed to anything you want or deleted and the network name (text) will be displayed. Virgin use a logo on the 3310.
To get a new operator logo, it can be SMSed to you phone and then you select it to replace the current one (there are lots of places you can buy logos and ringtones).

until of course when o2 turn on their 3g signal - at which point I'm completely buggered!

OK, you can buy a Tesco Mobile (who use O2) sim in any store for £9.99 or 3 of them for something like £24.99:

You could of course do the sensible thing and ditch the 7600.....no hang on, that's off-topic

Re: Do Virgin Mobile use the TMobile Network?

cheeky!

nowt sensible about ditching the 7600 - let me clarify - the problems with the 7600 are due to carphonewarehouse/'3' removing/hiding menu options which are in the manual. the phone would be ok if they'd left it as supplied by Nokia.

Have a look in the network settings menus. The software on the phone is associating a network number with the name TMobile. You should be able to change the name in those options, set it as primary network etc.

Its not a problem really, more of a feature.

Nope. Well, not IMO anyway.

I had *lots* of hassle with O2 CS recently when changing tariff...
