Not harsh at all ,Arthurs sons disability is not affecting Arthurs ability to work full time .I fully understand that in some cases there is a need for a carers allowance if the state won't care for the disabled in care homes or day centers and the disability is bad enough to stop both parents working or there is only 1 parent but in a lot of cases i think the carers allowance is far too generous

how is voicing an opinion on what i see as a very generous part of the welfare system out of order .You really need to calm down a bit and remember that carers allowance is a relatively new benefit and before that parents where expected to cope and they did for the most part .One of my wifes nephews has been told he has ADHD his mother gets a carers allowance and any number of benefits on top of that and yet the kid still goes to school as normal ,she doesn't need to work ,her husband works full time as a plumber so i have got to ask myself what the hell is the benefit for .

Re: What a nerve for Mr Hague
I especially love the fact Labour calls this reduction in benefits a 'tax'....
Shows just how askew Labours world view is and that at the core they're still the same they were 5,10 or 30 years ago.
Labour=state-sanctioned theft, jealousy and misery for all, most commonly known as socialism.
Instead of whining on about money-handouts we can ill-afford they should suggest a flat-tax for all employees,self-employed and corporations of 10-15% to incentivise people to work, but of course the working class has now become the benefit class so that's where Labours core votes are at.

Re: What a nerve for Mr Hague
Osem, l apologise to you foir what l have said, Mu upbrinning was similar to yours, when l was a kid, it was very hard work for my parents, to go to the cinema l had to wait until Wednesday when l got in half price with my dad showing his OAP book.
Dindnt get a Tv until 1966, an old banger it was too, My gripe is the fact that no matter what party is in power, that elected government should look after his voters first and not make them poorer than what they are, and yet give huge amounts of money to other countries that can support it self, most of the money that people give to charities - most of this goes in admin and therefore that charity doesn't give it all to the right people. This why l no longer give to charities, l gave a sum to a charity two years ago and they spent that phoning me for a bigger donation.
Yes, my wife gets carers allowance - but that is a right that we allowed to receive.
I trust you accept my apologies,

So you agree that tax rises shouldn't be applied?

Natalie could give up work and get carers allowance and we would be better off financially too. But she wants to work as do I so we wouldn't do it. It just seems odd that we would get more money for not working.

Re: What a nerve for Mr Hague
Can i just state that as far as this benefit claimant is concerned a tempporary freeze in the amount of increase on benefit is perfectly fine during times of economic hardship and i would agree with the rate not going up above a certain amount till wages do as well. But i do object to a freeze when they are hitting us in so many other areas at the sametime afterall claimants still have to deal with cost of living increases same as everyone else and we do start off at a lower level. Labour do not speak for me and whilst they seem to be trying to reinvent themselves yet again as the parrty of the people there are as many in their ranks that have never dirrtied their shoes with people from my end of society as the tories so thanks labour but if i wanted to shoot myself in the foot i can do it myself i don't need you representing me.
