Gary, not sure if I understand what you are saying here.
Never put a signal booster in between the ntl box and the ntl network. The booster may well boost the incoming signal, but all return paths will be stuffed, and the amp is not designed for cable so won't isolate the network from ingress noise.
EDIT : Sorry I see where you seperate the In and Out now Gary!!!
