Dell router problem

Hi all, hope this is in the right spot, ok, I have a Dell TrueMobile 1184 router, it's been working ok no problem untill I moved pc's around the other day, I'm working off a wired system and don't use the wireless side. After initially trying to plug everything back in and things not working I un-installed the software, now when I go through the set-up its no problem for these steps, checking internet connectivity through modem OK, connectt modem to router, checks everything and says obtaining ip from router ok then the set-up manager dissapears from view, it's still showing in task manager as running but it's using 50% cpu, I can close it from task manager. This happens every time I try it, any ideas ? I've tried reseting the router and d/ling new set-up all the same.

TIA

Re: Dell router problem

Long shot, but tried doing a hardware set on the router? Sticking the pencil in the hole? Also, trying restarting to factory defaults through the router control panel?

I'd try taking this Dell software out the equation too. You don't need any software to run through a router.

Tried a reset, I'll try the factory restore next, and I'll un-install software as I said in Zings post, never tried it without before

BRB, again .....lol

I'm back, no joy, I tried all of the above except restoring factory settings, it looks like I have to do that online with the router in the equation but of course, I can't get the router to work at all now

Oh well, another time, I'm off to bed, work tonight

Thanks all
