Re: do i need a router
Not sure about hooking up a Nokia phone... only ever used infrared to connect my mobile. However, you would need a router (more specifically, you'd actually need a wireless access point, but all wireless routers are by definition wireless access points too!) for your PC's wireless NIC to talk to anything else - it can't talk directly to other wireless NICs.

Re: do i need a router
Well, I've only ever used 2 different ones... the Linksys WRT54G which will set you back about £40ish or the Cisco Aironet which costs a helluva lot more.
Just to reiterate, I've never tried connecting a mobile phone to a wireless AP... didn't even think you could do it, so someone else will have to help you with that part, I'm afraid.
edit: just realised... that'd be bluetooth. So it is possible, but I've never done it.

Re: do i need a router
is there any reason why you cannot setup an adhoc network between the two devices?

Re: do i need a router
Blimey, that's neat... didn't realise phones could connect directly via 802.11.
Should work fine... can't think why it wouldn't.

It should be fairly streight forward to access the net via wifi there should be an option in the phones settings to search for wireless access pionts. I've seen it done on a couple of other phones.

Re: do i need a router
Yes you would need a wireless router but I think the N91 has its own wireless device so it would not need to be ported through a PC then and could access the internet directly through the wireless router much the same as a PSP does etc.
Hope this helps.

I was able to use the webbrowser on my psp using my wireless card as an AP without a wireless router just fine.
