Re: Digical Media Centre advice

I preffer not to have a PC Sitting underneath the TV etc and be happy enough to buy a box which you simple plug into the TV, it have wireless and you run something on the Local PC (Upstairs) which would list / stream all the movies in many formats (DivX, XVid, MPEG etc) as well as MP3 lets say - though this is not as important.

As for a PC - I do have a laptop (Celeron 800Mhz - total crap) and even a Shuttle PC (Atlhon 2500) which I guess can be turned into said device.

Mauldor, although you said wanted a wireless device you could try HomePlugs or other similar technology as an alternative. Do a search on google about them, they seem to better than wireless and saves extra wires being strewn across the house.
