bluetooth networking?

hey! is this in the right section?

what im after is anyhelp to set up a bluetooth network, i have 2 dongles, one in my pc and laptop...i have got them to connect to each other...but how do i set it up so that i can access the internet on the laptop via the bluetooth network?

ive got win xp SP2 on both machines...and ntl cable broadband thru a ambit modem.....

any help peeps?

Hmm, I'm not sure you can share your net connection through a bluetooth dongle, never tried it like so I might be wrong.

Right click on your network adapter that has your net connction plugged in to it. Go to properties, then advanced tab and you should see a check box on there that says "Allow other network users to share this internet connection" or words to that effect.

Now connect your other laptop and see if it picks up an IP address (By enabling internet connection sharing, you turn your machine in to a mini DHCP server which will tell other devices what IP, Subnet and gateway to use). If it does, you should be able to browse the t'intraweb.

I'm pretty sure that won't work, but hey, give it a go and see.

If that fails, get a wireless router, much easier and a hell of a lot better.

sorted it today what you need is the widcomm blutooth software...then you can do it like a wireless router.

i have a wireless router setup too...just wanted to use the bluetooth as i broke my wireless card getting a new one next week tho
