Re: Set up wireless network on NTL STB

only thing with the STB is that you need to clone the mac address of your main pc thats connected to it via the router, after that you'll have an internet connection

Re: Set up wireless network on NTL STB

I did pretty much what you're about to do, but it's a while ago!
I have the WGT624v3.
As far as I can remember:-
switch the lot off, STB as well.
put the router in line, ie connected to STB via cable to the "internet" socket.
connect a pc wired to the router.
STB on and settled, router on and settled, pc on.
I think the pc goes to the NTL reg page when you open Iinternet explorer, as far as I can remember, here you need your original PID number and password(that NTL gave you on day one) to register the new device with the STB.
That should have the wired pc connected to the net via the router, hopefully.
Next bit is to switch on the wireless security in the router, pretty good instructions in the pack and online at netgear.
I reckon then you should be able to get the laptop to find the wireless connection.
Hope this helps, may not be spot on but it's as much as I recall!
Good luck!
