Wireless setup on network does not work

Hi All, A little while ago I set up a Linksys WRT54G router to my PC in the hope that when my daughter came home from Uni she could have wireless connection. Well I've done the download from PC to laptop and it is set up on it but it will not connect. I have checked everywhere on her PC and even set it up manually with the Network key etc but it stills says not connected. Any ideas please.

---------- Post added at 20:39 ---------- Previous post was at 19:52 ----------

I've gone through a number of threads and found one that had problem that I am having. My daughters laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo (forgot the number) and although she can connect to another wireless network, I cannot make any connection via my router. My O/S is Windows XP. I have have tried repeatedly to set up the network connection, but it says limited or no connection. I was not able to find out if the forum member had a satisfactory conclusion to the problem of connectivity.

Re: Wireless setup on network does not work

Have you checked the network settings on your daughter's laptop? She should have an icon in the network connections for her wireless card, which is found within the Control Panel. Right click on this, and select Properties. Next, click TCP/IP and then click the Properties button.

Does she have Obtain an IP Automatically enabled? Then click the Advanced button - does she have anything listed in the Default Gateways section?

Re: Wireless setup on network does not work

Hi Gareth, Thanks for the info. She's taken the laptop upstairs where she can "wired" access for a while, but I will have a look at it later and do what you suggest to see what's what. Thanks.
