Is anyone in Coventry having slow browsing and connection problems tonight ? Just waited 3 minutes for bbc home page to download and other sites unbearably slow as well. The speed tests are coming up ok between 1.2Mb and 2Mb if a little bit up and down. The net seems to crawl to a halt every evening now problems useally start about 6pm onwards. I am so ****ed of with connection problems I really don't think I can stay with NTL any longer. Have contacted tech support and they told me that wrong information sent to my cable modem (motorola sb4100) and that to reboot and everything will be fine. They have told me this now over and over again but I don't believe them anymore. I think the NTL network can't cope or is busted or over subscribed. Anyway with all the price increases and degraded service there is nothing making me want to stay with NTL anymore. Service as been fine for most of the six years I have had broadband but last 6 months or more as been unbearable and I fed up with paying top doller for a substandred service with no sign of any improvment and just want to srew more money out of me. Just before someone tells me to change my proxie which is the usual. Done that work ocassionally but most time not and why should people keep having to change settings. NTL sort it !

I am having a wierd problem, my internet speed with ntl: (on 2mb) is slightly slower than usual, but the main problem is, it will not load any images! any ideas on this? Down in Swansea, SA6 area.

Hmm, bywater, you seem to be trawling around the forum at the moment looksing for anywhere you can post about your dissatisfaction. On the basis that you have a problem you suggest evryone must have one or will get one. That is a serious overgeneralistion in my view.

There may well be local areas that have high susbcription levels, on the other hand, assuming you are on the 10 meg service, it is up to, not you will have 10 meg. If you are on the 2 meg service then again, since it is a contended service, 1 - 2 meg speeds are OK ish, I'd want to average well above 1.5 really.

If you are that dissatisfied, yes you should take your custom elsewhere, but the grass may nbot always be greener. If you are consitently having slow connections, keep on at faults to make it clear you, the customer are not happy and you need somethign to be done.

My problem is now fixed, ntl: must have been doing some maintence work or having problems, first time to ever complain ntl' s internet service since getting it 5 years ago.
