Re: Mac Address For New Modem

We'll be nice and tell you that only equipment supplied by Ntl/Telewest can be connected to their networks.

Buying a modem off ebay won't work and you won't get any help here to enable you to modify it into working without paying the subscription.

Re: Mac Address For New Modem

Sorry but it won't work.
You need to have a cable modem given to you from Telewest themselves when you open an account with them.
It will only work for that given address and needs to be officially registered by Telewest.
We keep on telling people time and time again, that modems bought off ebay will not work.

If you have registered for an account with telwest, you will have been supplied with a modem.

to the forums by the way.

Re: Mac Address For New Modem

Can't be done without a 2nd subscription I'm afraid.

The easiest (and cheapest) way to do it would be to get a wired (or wireless) router.

Re: Mac Address For New Modem

Routers are very easy to set up.
Modem plugs in to the router and then each computer talks to the router either wired with ethernet cables or wirelessly.
It is very easy to set up, and would be a lot cheaper than having to pay for two connections.

Yes it can, however this expert help is illegal, so we don't allow discussion of it on these forums.
