Hello,XP Home - Standalone Comp.Could anyone please advise or direct me, regarding the correct Local Area Connection Settings. -Boxes/circles, checked/unchecked ?GeneralInternet ProtocolDNSWINSMany thanks.
'Obtain IP address automatically', 'Obtain DNS server address automatically', should be all you need. Wins is not needed. Everything else is picked up via DHCP. (Should just work, on a clean install, as I believe these are the default settings).
Thanks, Gaz/John.I was able to confirm most of my settings. Thanks.Could you please just clarify if these few settings are ok ?- (mine)DNS - Append Primary - Yes. Append Parent - Ticked. Register Connection - Ticked.WINS - NetBIOS Setting - Default. Enable LMHOST Lookup - not ticked. Thanks again for all your help.
