hi..my mate tried to connect to ntl broadband himself....he bought a router and tried to install broadband with the router connected...near the end of setting up with the cd he gets the error 800 message and cant proceed...
when i tried to fix the problem i cannot get the installation cd to start at the beginning...any solutions to the problem???
I installed my NTL 250 modem first, then after it all worked, I then connected the Router (Linksys WRT54G in my case).
I've been told that you don't need the install cd, just set it up from the network connections tab under control panel.
To make sure you pick up the MAC address from the router instead of the PC, you'll need to make sure the modem is switched off for a while and everything connected properly in sequence.
