then on the 'connection' link in the top menu bar and it will tell you.

Basically the cache server holds a copy of the most commonly requested pages, so when you click on a page link, you get the copy.

Sometimes this 'automatic' caching doesn't work, resulting in pages not loading - in this case choosing to set another proxy server as the explicit cache, can often solve the problem. The link to Robin Walkers site Paul posted above has more info.

Well I know your list is at least partially out of date Bambi since although I've not checked the whole thing but the IP addresses for the Manchester proxies were reassigned not long ago and you have the old numbers still. Robin Walker's list is rather out of date also these days also. The lists maintained by the forum (in Paul's post) are kept in tip-top condition, and my list is also up to date (last time I checked it anyway...)
