No picture, box fault

Came home from work to find my box flashing up many 4 fig nos constantly. Rebooted said tune and same thing. Cycling through 1256, 1345, etc.

Its a PACE box with VOD...is it the box, will I need a tech call out?

Cheers

Re: No picture, box fault

20 mins waiting for faults answer. Coming tomorrow now. Go downstairs after, box back on! Rebooted again to see if a one off, stuck on tune again.

If after all this it works when they come do they charge for a call out if i can't prove it wasn't working?

Also I currently have an aerail by pass do some boxes not have this?

Cheers

Re: No picture, box fault

STBs generally do not have an aerial bypass as standard. If the tech who calls decides your STB needs replacement, make sure the aerial bypass is reinstalled.

As for the STB, if it is failing, it can eventually pick up the signals but takes time. hence the Tune signals. Conversely a signal fault may be present. The Faults people by deciding that an engineer was needed. have already agreed you have an issue, so don't worry about demonstrating the error.

Re: No picture, box fault

Excellent service turned up at 1.15 on a 1-5 time slot, changed box and reinstalled bypass all OK so far!
