im sure this is normal but i just thought id check when i tracert something or use neotrace for that matter my connection goes out through a black hole (private ip range) and yes this is after its got into ntl's network not my own network.
Yes, on a traceroute the first hop past your cable modem will be the uBR, and you're seeing its private IP rather than its public IP - this is perfectly normal.
