Broadband performance (RG12)

Hi,
I ran a quick test on Robin Walkers site, and it seems to show that I have got a rather slow connection I think... ( I'm on the 3Mb service).

Details pasted here....
Wed, 28 Sep 2005 19:13:57 UTC
1st 128K took 703 ms = 186447 Bytes/sec = approx 1551 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 484 ms = 270810 Bytes/sec = approx 2253 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 406 ms = 322837 Bytes/sec = approx 2686 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 407 ms = 322044 Bytes/sec = approx 2679 kbits/sec

Anyone else have a slowish service in the Bracknell area?

Should I be phoning NTL?

Thanks

No problem here (RG12)... bear in mind however that this is peak time for usage, you may well find a lot of people hitting the p2p networks at the moment.

Damn P2P they should try and do something about banning that... Perhaps blocking the ports it used...

Re: Broadband performance (RG12)

This is what I got at RG10 just now:

Thu, 29 Sep 2005 19:35:53 UTC
1st 128K took 516 ms = 254016 Bytes/sec = approx 2113 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 484 ms = 270810 Bytes/sec = approx 2253 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 563 ms = 232810 Bytes/sec = approx 1937 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1000 ms = 131072 Bytes/sec = approx 1091 kbits/sec

I must admit I have had to start playing around with proxy settings - first time in almost 2 years, in order to get pages to load in a reasonable time. I work from home at actually find mid morning the worse at the moment...
