The Installation Disc.
Hi everybody
My dad had NTL broadband installed today which is great but he didn't realise that NTL do not set up the installation disc and he has to do this himself. Being that he does not have much pc knowledge I am prepared to try and install this for him tomorrow.
I have some pc knowledge but am still a novice myself so some advice would be much appreciated.
My question to you;
Is the installation instructions pretty straight forward and is there anything that you could tell me to help this set up go smoothly?
Thank you in advance!
Maria

Re: The Installation Disc.
I started the installation process and it was going fine for a while but when I got to detecting network settings it would go no further at all. The advice on screen was to get in touch with ntl's technicians, which I did.
The ntl guy asked me a few questions and knew exactly what the problem was near enough straight away. The pc had belonged to my brother beforehand who was using dial up and this was interfering with the network settings, stopping us from finishing the installation.
Anyway the ntl guy talked me through each step to configure the correct settings and we were able to finish the installation, much to the relief of my dad (me too lol).
I give ntl 10/10 for their help in this case.
Thanks to everyone here for your help too.
Maria
