A43 near the M40

Does anyone know what them massive satellite dishes are for plus them two great big dome things at the side of the A43 near to the M40. Is it some sort of listening station?

Maybe it's the local echelon station.... you DO know you're being watched right?

No - It's probably the same as the one up in yorkshire that used to look like giant golf balls. An eary warning rader system.

Seeing at it's an RAF station, I would assume it's a radar installation.

For obvious reasons, there's no tourist information sign at the entrance!

That dish certainly would be awesome for picking up Sky. lol.

Thought this would be another thread moaning about the hopeless Cherwell Valley interchange then...

Don't read anything sinister into Domes either, all they are is a way of keeping the weather off expensive equipment and can more than double the life of the dish or aerial inside.

I think AFAIK it's an old fashioned radio booster.

BTW we........Well hubby scared the bejeezers out of some young lad (and his mates) in our BMW 330i diesel, chasing/closely following (and eventually overtaking) some oiks in a mitsubishi evo 7. We recon he thought we were Mr Plod!

The pole/dishes are a radio thingy. Been there for years and years.
