Using fonts in AndrOpenOffice
It used to use my fonts quite happily. Then I changed something, I forget what or why, and things went so badly wrong I had to uninstall and reinstall AndrOpenOffice. I did, and now it won't use custom fonts, only the ones on the drop-down menu. LibreOffice on Windows or Linux on my laptop has no such problem.
I looked up a solution; there was mention of a Configuration screen to specify a font path. What Configuration screen? No spanner icon appears on my menu bar.
The version number (so Help says) is 5.5.8. ATM the fonts are in
/storage/emulated/0/android/data/com.andropenoffice/files/4/user/fonts
- as they were when it was behaving.
What am I missing, if anything? What have I done that I shouldn't/not done that I should have?
Stop the press, I've just discovered what the cause of the crash was, viz. Gallery - I specified 'not now', and now it briefly flashes up my document before crashing! I have to reinstall it AGAIN! To all AndrOpenOffice users: DO NOT, EVER, TRY TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE GALLERY!
- Whew, it's working again, at least - but it still doesn't use the custom fonts. Nor can I figure out how to tell it where they are, assuming (as is likely) it can't find them.
This is maddening! I use AndrOpenOffice because it seems to be the only app which doesn't need a non-local account, doesn't require a subscription beyond a one-off payment to stop ads (I think I remember paying that), doesn't have a weird interface as the others I've tried do, and which did, until I messed up, display fonts correctly!
