Connecting Virgin Media TV to Sky Glass TV

Hello All

I'm moving away from Sky Glass (with Sky Glass TV) to Virgin Media Equipment and TV. Saving £600p.a. along the way!

I can connect the Virgin media box to the Sky Glass TV via usual HDMI(s).

It is encouraging that I can turn off the Sky Glass Tv using the Virgin handset.

However, whenever I turn the Sky Glass TV back on (via either handset) I have to re-select the correct HDMI connection via the Sky Glass TV handset in order to get to the Virgin TV services.

Is there a way of getting away from needing to do this on the Sky Glass handset? i.e. to go direct to the correct HDMI connection (Virgin) without going through the Sky Glass menu's. One handset for everything etc ?????

Re: Connecting Virgin Media TV to Sky Glass TV

If it isn't already then you need to turn on HDMI One Touch Play on your Sky Glass
Press Home on the Sky remote, then scroll down to the bottom of the Home screen and select Settings > Connected Devices > HDMI inputs.
The select HDMI one-touch-play and switch it On, and turn on CEC

You probbaly have either VM's TV360 or Stream (Flex) box.

You need to have 'One Power' enabled on the VM STB so open Settings > System > One Power and turn it ON

The red power button on the VM remote enables you turn on connected devices at the same time, so hopefully Sky Glass will now go straight to the HDMI port that your VM box is attached to.

I did read somewhere that Sky Glass expects some external devices to be connected to HDMI 3 although I would expect HDMI 1 to work.

Re: Connecting Virgin Media TV to Sky Glass TV

Thank you for responding newapollo.
Yeah - I've tried One-Touch on all 3 x HDMI.
VM Stream Box has One Power enabled also.
Red Power button does turn off both the first time but when power up again it still goes to the Sky Glass menus - grrrr.
If I press and hold (circa 5 secs) the red button it does then turn off both devices BUT then the power up takes circa 30 secs (20 sec of which just has a dark screen) as the VM stream box has to fully power back up.

I don't have any issues with VM Stream boxes attached to other TV's.
Which suggests it is a setting in the Sky Glass TV (or not fixable).

I'm about out of ideas again ????
