Tinnitus anyone?

Anyone have a high piched ring in thier ear or near it??

When I was younger when I used to get earaches,I got this high pitched tone near my left ear (I dont think its coming froim the ear itself) and when the infection went away,the noise stopped........

Well after one earache in my left ear,the noise stayed and I have had it many years....... I was curious if somehow making my left ear have a earache again and then when it clears up maybe the noise will go??

Or I was thinking maybe taking a 30day dose of Penicillin and maybe it may finally clear it up... Thats what I used to take....

I have taken MMS for other stuff and that doesnt even clear up the ringing sound so it must be hard to fix???

I have tinnitus in both ears, but it's more like white noise rather than high pitched. I suspect it was caused by too much loud music in my younger days. It doesn't really bother me but it's there all the time.

If you've had it many years, penicillin isn't going to cure it. You won't have had an ear infection that long.

You may have Meniere's disease, but sounds unlikely (one of the symptoms is ringing in the ears but its usually accompanied with vertigo).

Tinnitus can be caused by damage to the inner ear where sound waves are converted to nerve impulses, but it can be caused by other things too.

You may just need your ears cleaning - but don't go sticking anything in it as that could make any blockage worse.

Go and seek proper medical advice.

Eustachian tube blockage. It can be caused by snot during and after the sniffles, or an infection. I get it all the time, in addition to the bilateral tinnitus I have had for over 30 years.

The audiologists all sing from the same hymn sheet "Loud music at concerts, clubs, or headphones. No hearing protection when using machinery". But one suggested diving, or flying at high altitude, as causes. He was a military expert on hearing loss, who was told to recant after claims for hearing loss arrived at the doors of the MOD.

Have it in both ears for as long as I can remember, it luckily doesn't bother me too much but when it flares up that can last a few days and it is annoying, then after another sleep it goes back to normal levels.

There is no cure for Tinnitus.

I have it in both ears. NHS supply hearing aids help bypass it. The worst situations are noisy restaurants or group settings. Otherwise all okay.

I have it mostly in my left ear post gastroscopy and bit in my right. It's a bit of a pain but I can mostly ignore it.

Hmm I wonder can that tube be cleared somehow?

Im wondering if mine has been blocked all these years?? (Would an Xray show if its blocked??)

And here. I found something on which a doctor alleged he had a) the cause and b) a cure, but he was wittering on so long I lost patience and didn't watch the whole clip. I bet it involved eating your greens or whatever. <cynic mode> In my experience it's always something like that - veggie propaganda thinly disguised as a 'miracle' cure. </cynic mode>

Some can get kinked, and that is a major problem as it causes problems with changing air pressure. Affected pilots are told not to fly in unpressurised cockpits in case their eardrums explode!

3D scans can see them, but that doesn't always mean there is a cure.

Yeah, subjective tinnitus on top of pulsatile tinnitus. I've got another appointment with the Audiologist end of the year, might be getting some jazzy hearing aids.

Years ago I went to some doctor and he said if I ate some HERBS for a year it might stop but I didnt wanna go thru all that and not have it go away so I didnt try.....I suppose I still could....

Yes I have held my nose and tried to clear my ears out but usually the pressure stays in my ears along time before being released,Boy do I hate it!!

I dont think the sound is IN MY EAR because if I squeeze/press my ear lobe I can hear another sound AND THAT OBVIOUSLY IS COMING FROM MY EAR.......
