200mb but getting 0.35mb - 6mb.
I pay for 200mb from Virgin. When i first got it for a week it was giving me over 200mb. After that first week now months after i'm recieving from 0.35mb - 6mb. 24/7.
Ive phoned virgin over 100 times complaining. They say its high utilization in my area but i dont think they even know whats wrong..
Ive been complaining about slow speeds since march 2015. They then said a 'review' date would be July15.. then i rang up to see if it was fixed, they said no a review date would be August15. Then it went to Nov15, Dec15, march16, Aug16.. now Dec16 then il ring up again and it will be another review March17.. thats 2 years! ive had a engineer out about a year ago and no luck. They changed my internet channel other day it peaked to 100mb which i was happy with even qhen paying for 200mb.. but then went back down to 1mb!
Can anyone help? I dont want to change provider but have ebough and canceling my internet, phone and tv this week if i cant get help.here. virgin are that useless im resulting it posting on a forum for someone kind to help me.
They have credited my account of £12 a month but its not good enough i want a working internet.
Can anyone help please.
These slow speeds are with wireless and ethernet cables

Unfortunately this is standard. It took them about 18 months to sort my area out. Every time I asked they pushed the date back. Eventually they did sort it and it's been great ever since.
By complaining and getting your monthly credit you're doing all you can really. Nothing will hurry them along.

thanks for your reply.
I canceled my virgin contract today and got sky. it was ten pound cheaper a month pluss I got sky movies frown in. only ordered the 38mb download.. but hay it's better than what I was getting from virgin.
its a 12 month contract, when its close to the time il call virgin back up and see if my area is fixed.. if it is il go back to them. I'm not holding my breath though

It's a shame Virgin are back to their old tricks. There was a period there where they were seemingly on top of congestion issues, but now it's back to the ol' delay-delay-delay when they have no intention of fixing it any time soon.

Friend in work just had virgin installed but turns out that area is completely out of telephone ports so they ended up with just Broadband + TV. Cheeky buggers had to be argued with to get rid of the line rental charge (and they actually ended up getting the entire charge removed, not just enough to drop it to BB + TV price).

Oh my god friend i've just been ranting about this! its been an issue in my area (L10) for over 3 years and was told it would be fixed in February 2014. It hasnt been.
I keep getting smug Usain Bolt emails about my speed going up. I have never ever got to 152. Never. I've had 90 and so during off peak times. Virgin media keep taking on new customers in my area and refusing to fix the issues. I've been palmed off constantly.
Check out Djr_uk in the virgin media forum for my rants.
But yes they're absolutely awful and want us to phone each month for a partial refund rather than give it automatically. Disgusting

Lucky them, I had a similar thing happen to a friend of mine a few years ago and they actually refused to do anything about it. Ended up making their package more expensive as a result.

PC World have good Sky deals on at the moment via simplify digital. TV boxsets bundle, sky fibre max + anytime calls for around £30 for 12months. £10 less gets you ADSL.
