This is an interesting idea. The principles obviously won't be to the taste of all, but there are a lot of people, me included, who feel that the current parties don't really work for us given the current voting system.

Inspired by a speech given by the late Jo Cox MP, More United believes in hope and unity, and rejects hatred and division. We have five fundamental beliefs that we will work towards:

A fair, modern, efficient market based economy that closes the gap between rich and poor and supports strong public services

A modern democracy that empowers citizens, rather than politicians

A green economy that protects the environment and works to reverse climate change

An open and tolerant society where diversity is celebrated in all its forms

A United Kingdom that welcomes immigration, international co-operation and a close relationship with the EU

Easy to say proof will be how they are if they ever get any power.

They're not going to stand for office...

Isn't it, as Andrew Marr suggested to Paddy Pantsdown this morning, simply just the libdems trying to find a voice in an arena where they no longer have one i.e. British politics?

Where a parliamentary candidate sits on specific policies is of secondary interest at best to most voters. At a general election it is overwhelmingly the national message and how well the candidates communicate it and apply it to local circumstances that's the key to success.

Throwing Kickstarter cash at a candidate just because they're more socially liberal than the others won't make a difference if that candidate is a Tory in a Labour stronghold, or vice versa. I doubt there will be enough swing seats at the next election to make a big difference either.

MoreUnited sound like a third division team that will never play in the Premiership because of an absence of quality players .
