HTC vive?

Does anyone have this?

My friend has one and it is pretty impressive. My pc runs an old 965 black edition and a strix 4 gig 960 gtx.

The VIVE tester on steam doesn't seem to show my results on the desktop to see if I would get away with using it but the specs are at least an AMD 8350 with a GTX 970

Laptop CPU is ready but it has an 860m card so I don't think it would run the 90fps they say to stop you from getting motion sickness.

Not sure it is worth £700 though think I will wait a while but I might have to borrow my mates to see if it will run on my pc

Re: HTC vive?

Well this is embarrasing lol

An i5 4690k @ 4.3ghz & a KFA2 GTX980 SoC @ 1483 boost with 16gb xmp mem not capable???

My GPU overclocked is on par with the ti versions of the 980 & the CPU not far short of a stock i7 4790k

Obviously something is wrong somewhere, time to investigate.

Edit

Driver issue, I had the latest drivers installed but for some reason they were not playing as they should, driver clean & fresh install, all is good.

Re: HTC vive?

I'm surprised at the results even with what you have you still haven't managed to get to the end of the green. still good results though.

I won't pay the ridiculous price it is at the moment £700 but once it comes down in price to about £400 the 980 will have dropped in price along with supporting CPU's so I'll probably do a system upgrade then.

Especially since the 1080 is coming out soon.

I have the top end 960GTX the strix 4gb but I could overclock it and the CPU to get a bit more juice out of them to push up the scores for the vive but developers might have even customised software for lower systems to run with it.

Still I'm tempted to get one once the price comes down and run it with what I have at the moment
