I am delighted that this has happen. Many years ago l had a terrible time with Ryanair.
As l kick up a fuss that the airline had ruined my Anniversary present with my wife. They threatened me with an arrest by airport police.
I had fully complied with online instructions. It clearly told us that we could fly on Identity cards from London to Glasgow. My wife and l had passports, but the mother-in-law had the cards.
We even checked two days before, to make sure it was fine. We arrived at the airport, and they told us that parts of my party couldn't fly. When we asked why, they advised that they changed the policy overnight and we all needed passports to fly.
I demanded to see a manager, the check in staff refused. And said they would call police. British Airways, who were opposite said that we could fly with them, but it would cost extra money - which we didn't have to spare.
I tried my hardest to speak with Rynair staff, but they refused to speak with us.
When we got home, l had to call Dublin, they were NOT interested. Under legal advice we wrote to them - NINE months later, we had a letter. Saying that they would not refund our money.
12 months later, after a legal letter, we got our tickets refunded - no compo, just a check - no letter. Nothing
I wouldn't even recommend Ryanair to my worst enemy. They are a disgrace to the airline industry
