Re: Heroin Addict had HGV Licence

When I had my HGV medical last year I had a choice of using my own GP or using the one at the training centre ,the one at the training centre cost £50 my GP wanted £150 so naturally I used the one at the training centre who was a old doctor who only came in on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the £50 had to be cash which he promptly trousered after asking the most basic of questions and the most useless eye test imaginable .
So yes HGV medicals desperately need sorting out ,it is strange that whilst CPC retesting every 5 years is now in place and 7.5t vehicles have been included in the HGV bracket for those tests and generally the whole industry is going through a makeover I find it strange that something as important as the medical is still in the hands of a retired GP working for cash in hand
