Testing Port Forwarding from BT-FON

[Tricky]

I have Infinity (no Virgin up my street ) and have a VPN Server (Synology) so that I can access my home network from work. I want to be able to test this easily so have BT-FON enable and connected my iPhone wifi to the Public side of my WiFi network using my DYNDNS type domain name.

I know that port-forwarding works as I can access the network from work/mobile data network but if I am on my BT-FON connection I cannot access my Network via the resolved DNS name.

Anyone know if this is fact and it isn't possible? Unfortunately the HH3 is so locked down that I cannot setup and debug type commands ...

I would suspect the reason it will not work is to do with wireless isolation (security feature) in combination with the router knowing the resolved IP is its own.

So it won't send any data out to the internet as it is for its own IP address, at the same time the wireless isolation stops BT-Fon side connections talking to your internal network.

Guesswork though, not guaranteed fact like you are looking for. Maybe this will tempt some more replies though.

If it works from one place it'll pretty much work from anywhere. Why do you need to test connecting to your own connection from your own connection?

P.S. Use a neighbour's BTFon wifi? You get free global access anyway.
