[Suggestion] Replace Music OD with an app

Hi

Just posted this suggestion on the TiVo Feedback tool, but what are your impressions fellow CF members?

---

The 'Music Search' [1] [2] app now appears on the TiVo via the Apps & Games menu and Channel 300, however it's current feature as the name suggests is just searching.
Within the Music on Demand menu there is no option to search and so therefore the app feels like 'a bit on the side'.

But why not take the functionality of the search app, combine it with the functionality of the Music OD menu and bake it into one big app.

This means that when you select Home > Catch Up & On Demand > Music, a Music on Demand app will launch instead of showing the existing menus.
Within this new app it will have the discovery bar and search bar as it does on the 'Music Search' app, however in the content space, a menu similar to the existing one in on demand will be shown.

This will provide one useful app for the user, and as it is an app, extra functionality that wouldn't be available in the existing menus could be added, for example the takeovers could be expanded to give an information screen with the artist's bio, music video and other features.

What do you think?

I've even included a poll for you!

Who says it's not something they've got planned. Remember the Search app is version 1

Hmm, sounds like a hint!
If planned, great! Would really improve the experience.
I suppose the same could happen with FilmFlex, who knows?

What would be the point of spotify on tivo if VM had their own music app?

Exactly, not to mention music videos via YouTube too. Both seem to make Spotify fairly pointless.

Spotify has a larger catalogue of music that the Music on Demand does, and music videos via the YouTube app can be hit and miss as it doesn't include Vevo videos, or others that are blocked from being viewed on TV
