30/60mb and vstuff

Just requested the upgrade, so superhub on its way.
Checking on the joy of 60 mb and it is advertising as unlimited storage space.
I imagine this is through Vstuff. Can anyone confirm this is correct?
Do you only get unlimited when your area is upgraded, or should I get it when superhub is plugged in?

Re: 30/60mb and vstuff

i would think that it is only when you area gets upgraded because they have done the same thing with the stm policy from what I have heard. Even though you have been upgraded to 60mbit, you still get hit with the 30mbit limits.

You know what, I don't actually know ..

I assume as a 60Mb user you would get the same as someone on 50Mb now ..

I used it for a while but gave up as it can be slower than a slow thing from planet slow.

I would use it again but there does not seem to be any way to completely remove an old backup you now longer need so you can start afresh with a totally new computer.

You can delete previous backups, but not the slickest process

Re: 30/60mb and vstuff

i followed the enclosed link, i had to quit B&S, then re start, However the enclosed link says you need to uninstal, then re-instal.

OK I checked and no, the free uplift doesn't increase your B&S level. Its a speed uplift, not a tier uplift.

Re: 30/60mb and vstuff

I spoke to detentions yesterday about the advertisement. They think it has now been removed.
I told them that was the main reason I upgraded, all they could suggest is that I upgrade to the next package which is 100 mb then it would be unlimited.

Not very happy with this, but not sure what else I can do without spending more money. I asked about downgrading, but was then advised i would pay same as I am doing now.

Can I cancel and go back to my old tarrif?

Re: 30/60mb and vstuff

100mbit isnt unlimited, they have just introduced stm on it which is far to strict on the downstream imho. You cant downgrade because the tier below you is being upgraded to the tier you are on now for the same price

Re: 30/60mb and vstuff

Ok, latest on Vstuff.

I spoke to retentions, who said it was a error and had now been removed from the website.

I then downgraded back to 10MB, as i really did want the unlimited storage.

This morning when i looked on my virgin media, the offer is there again.
Upgrade to 60mb for £5.00 per month, includes free unlimited storage.

What is going on ?

From my experience of the backup feature it certainly wouldn't be worth upgrading for. My main gripe (apart from it being very very slow) was that it mirrored your PC. Delete a file from the PC and it gets deleted from the backup quite quickly - hardly useful if you accidentally trash something and don't realise until later nor will it backup USB or network drives.
