Service outage M41 area (again)

This is more an informational for other people in Manchester.

Woke up this morning to find loss of all broadband services. Rebooted modem, no joy. Called 151, spoke to a lovely man with a Welsh accent, who informed me theres a known ongoing issue in the Manchester area relating to low SNR levels, and his computer told him a fix wasn't due till the 18th, but it "will probably be fixed before then".

Sucks for me, because my USB PAYG data runs out on the 13th. lol.

Guess I need to email my contacts and inform them I might not be around on skype after the 13th.

Oh well, at least I know VM are aware of the issue.

Re: Service outage M41 area (again)

Also I'd like to leave positive feedback for the agent whom I spoke to. He was:
a) Polite
b) Professional
c) Knowlegable
and above all
d) Patient (which you have to be when speaking to me due to my hearing issues).

He was a real credit to Virgin Media.

Is there any official way I can leave positive feedback?

Re: Service outage M41 area (again)

It came up for about an hour this afternoon, then promptly died again.

This is the second major outage for me in less than a month, and I hate to admit it, but it is starting to grate on my nerves. The internet is my only connection to the outside world, as sad as that sounds. I can't "go down't pub" like most people, I find it hard to the point of being painful to handle group situations because of my hearing impediment.

Its not as if we ever get credited anything for the outages either. I understand that they are only obliged to make a "best effort", but really, come on...

OK, end of rant.
