Unexpected "Issues" in Area 31 (Lichfield)

Just wondered if anyone here could shed any more light on this?

Apparently "something" happened this morning at 10:59 which has caused the whole of my area to either have no broadband, or an intermittent service.

I've just been given a "fix" date of the 24th - five days!

Im connected to the Lichfield area and i've had no problems at all today with my connection. Neither has any of my friends in the same area, who also have Virgin

I am in area 31 near Lichfield and have had total broadband failure since 10 am. I telephoned Virgin to report the fault and was told that the service for several hundred people was down, that the engineers were aware and were working on it. No indication was given as to when the fault would be fixed.
Despite this, the Virginmedia service status for this area shows the broadband service to be 'good'.
No service equals 'good' - brilliant!

Yes, it does irritate me when you go to check service status (I am at work btw) and there is no indication that there are any problems at all.

I appreciate the problem is being worked on but it would be nice to see some sort of update on "time to fix".
