Extremely slow speed in Darlington

I'll post first of all by saying we get full speed from our 50mb broadband 99% of the time but since yesterday it has got seriously slow, i'm talking it taking 10 seconds to open Google, or even just trying to post this thread took me about 15 seconds from when i pressed the 'New Thread' link. Have tried downloading from Gamershell + Newsgroups but it's pointless, i'm not getting over 20kb/s from anywhere? I have had the modem and router (dir-615) powered off for 5 hours today while i went out, just come back in, powered on and it's exactly the same.

Tracerts to BBC have a constant ms of around 700 and '*' some of the hops -

Re: Extremely slow speed in Darlington

Not sure if its related, but up here in Greenock, the service has been crappy all afternoon, with time outs, constant lag etc. One min its perfect, then the next the internet goes or becomes very laggy, and websites fail to load, but the router does not reboot or anything.

I'm on the 30mb, echo'd that VM status page show all is rosey.
