Question CH103 STV, Warbled Sound

Anyone in the STV area using Virgin Media TV CH103? Reason for asking is that I have noticed sound warble issues on that channel only, for instance on Sat evening the sound was not right and at times off key, but when I switched to CH853 from London it was fine.

Support told me to turn the STB off at the wall, wait 30 seconds and turn back on again, so I am hoping the issue does not return, I am slightly doubtful that this will fix it as I am sure I tried this once before and it didn't solve the problem.

It just seems to be that particular channel, I wonder what could be causing this.

I see you are throwing your toys out of the pram over this on the VM forum?

http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...es/td-p/687803

could be anything, a signal level issue or a problem with STV itself. Has anyone else in Scotland noticed this?

Why would it have anything to do with HD when I made it clear it was SD? perhaps if you took more time to read the post instead of trying to be sarcastic.

Bit surprised by your comments being that you work for Virgin Media.

my apologies over the HD bit, the rest still stands.

Lighten up

I'm sure if it was a regional issue it would have been picked up as more would complain over a popular channel like STV.

Just another thought... the sound is always off-key on X-Factor if that's what you were watching

Do you get freezing pictures too or is it just sound?

I'd monitor it and see if it happens again... I take it you don't get any problems like that on other channels?

Nope, just seems to be that one.

STV have this programme called Nightshift on in the early hours showing various parts of Scotland taken in a helicopter with a presenter talking with music on in the background, and even that was affected.

But yeah, will monitor it.

So why ask for a technician, do you think there is a physical fault that he can fix?

Cheers MB.

If anyone else has an issue with STV and sound, then please post in this thread. I'll take a look regionally on wednesday if I can.

It was Sat night prog at 21:15 on STV, but hey, it was noticed again earlier this afternoon hence the reason for my call to support.

The problems I have been having are nothing to do with freezing for a few seconds. trying to be smart again are we.

Just shows you how much you know asking a stupid question like that being that you call yourself a VM Tech.

I pity the folks that are unlucky enough to have you call round.
