Do VM staff know what they're doing?
Ok, It is now universally accepted Virginmedia's cable network is incapable giving a good experience for online gamers. One major problem is gamers who play Blackops on xboxlive.
VM support staff are apparently looking into the problems and have been looking into the problem since March with no progress. At first they blamed Microsoft , they then had to withdraw that and blamed Treyarch the game developers, an finally admitted there is a problem with how the network handles the game traffic.
After VM support staff posted on the official VM forums stating they had "tweaked" and made "changes" to the network claming al would be fixed it soon became apparent nothing had changed.
So now the latest, this is a C&P Of a post on the offical forum from a member of staff.
Hi All,
Could you please provide us with pathpings and traceroutes to the gameserver as it'll help us to progress with our investigation.
Thanks

Your constant personal attacks on me are pointless and childish. If you have nothing to offer on the topic please feel free to PM me or report the thread to a moderator if you have a comment or complaint about me.

There's no hope when people just post on other forums moaning about their attempts to fix it.
Of course, you don't really want it fixed. You just want an excuse to complain about virgin..

Yeah you're absolutely right, I don't want VM to fix the issue I want to keep on paying for a cable connection and a ADSL+2 connection.
I don't want VM to do what every other provider seems to able to do and maintain a constant and solid connection to xboxlive. I'm glad my kids were unhappy that they couldn't use there xboxes online at the same time because VM equipment can't give both access to open ports at the same time.
It's not just me that's not happy its a lot of other customers.
CLICK ME
I do not understand why VIRGINMEDIA don't just let me disconnect, I won't have there services then and won't have any interest in whats going on with them.

re: Do VM staff know what they're doing?
Virgin Media, like most ISPs don't gurantee a fault free service. That doesn't mean you have to accept a service that has a fault that isn't being repaired if that fault is critical to your normal use of the service contracted. One must of course be able to show that the problem you have is normal and thus reasonably expected use.
The standard response may be that your cannot leave. If you serve them proper notice, for a period equivalent to any notice they could serve on you under their terms and conditions of supply, requiring recitifcation of that issue within the notice period, and stating that if they fail to do so you will consider that a breach of contract on their part, and that you will then immediately cancel services, VM would have a very difficult case to make further claim against you. You'd probably get a lot of stroppy letters though, and never ever be able to go back to them in the future if you did "walk away".
