wireless router is quickly dropping my laptop if connection is inactive

Hi guys!
I tried searching for this problem, but dont find anything exactly like that, so here it goes.

My wireless router is quite often disconnecting my laptop. The only way to make sure there is no drops is if i run a program that is constantly active - like emule or torrent uploader.

I dont have this problem with other wireless connections (for example in the university), nor other laptops have had it so far with this router.
I am wondering if it is to do with some option somewhere, but i've had also fresh installs of windows, and also resetting the router's options to default and it had persisted.

The router is Gembird NSW-R2 (i dont know if it is known in the UK, i am abroad now) and i am on Win XP Prof SP3.

Any advice appreciated!
