Windows Media Center Hauppauge HD PVR and V+box No Channels Found
Having endured the normal set up nightmares with anything microsoft, having to manually run an exe file to ensure the set up does not freeze!, i have got 99% there only to get the following ....
No channels were found .Make sure your tv equipment is connected correctly.
Now the PVR IS recognised as the tuner and i'm offered a choice of Virgin tv Bromley and uk cable analogue and digital and on all 3 it finds nothing.
My hardware hook up is vbox to PVR via component and PVR to pc via usb, and pc graphics card to home cinema amp and tv via hdmi.
The vbox channels are being received to the pc through Total Media Extreme. All seems in place, so what needs to be done so that WMC can find the channels?
Anyone successfully set this lot up? I'm so damned close!

Are you using the Hauppauge Beta drivers or the 1geek1tool drivers? TME is irrelevant, it see's everything as video, WMC see's the box as a TV tuner not just a video source.

Re: Windows Media Center Hauppauge HD PVR and V+box No Channels Found
Jameseh ,thanks for your reply, i have the following installed.... HD PVR support for Windows Media Center (beta version) Version: 28271 File Size: 10.8MB hdpvr-mce-28271.zip
Presumably i would need to uninstall this before i install http://1geek1tool.com/hdpvr ?, or do i need both?

Yeah, get rid of the Hauppauge driver - it's junk. I used DVBLink as my basis for my Sky-driven Media Center setup last year. It's a lot more mature now than it was 18 months ago.

Are you using some kind of magic eye to change channels? If not his isn't going to work, there's probably nothing to scan as analogue is being phased out and maybe already has in your area and digital is encrypted, even across 'free' channels.

Re: Windows Media Center Hauppauge HD PVR and V+box No Channels Found
As the V box is connect to the pvr via component you will only ever be able to see the v box as a video source, you won't be able to scan for individual channels on the PVR or Windows Media Centre.
To change channels you will need some sort of IR sender connected to either the PC or PVR. The IR sender is then configured to change channels to match the channel in the TV guide.
Had this sort of set up a while ago but using different software.
