50MB to 100MB upgrade
Just ordered my upgrade to 100Mb from 50Mb today.
I was told that they will have to send an engineer out next wednesday to install and check the cabling. I said that I already had the 50mb cable modem and asked could they not flash the box with a new config to allow 100mb.
The girl I was speaking to was not that sure why they had to come out just that they had to.
I know that it is not costing me anything for the enfgineer to come out but got to wait until next week to get the upgrade and from what I have read not to keen on getting the superhub.
Anyone know of any reason why they will have to come out and is it not possible to flash existing modem with new config ?
Thanks

Re: 50MB to 100MB upgrade
As it is the top tier they want all installed to be manned even if it is just an upgrade. They will also give you the superhub if you don't have one.
The engineer checks that all the signal levels are fine and the 100mb works before he leaves.

Re: 50MB to 100MB upgrade
No problem here with superhub always performs well any problems always with the PC.
As for the install thats a good thing i had an engineer come at 9 am an hour eary (phoned ahead). He said the pit had problems ? that the install might not happen ? phoned another virgin installer he was there in 10 minutes had some tools none of us nerds would undertsand had me setup.
Trust me your in good hands
If its good YOU know its good
If its bad YOU WILL COMPLAIN GO ON FORUMS AND COMPLAIN.
Point i am making is most people only make comments when things go wrong.

I did not say that, my post has been edited by Stephen. However, as jb has said on many occasions the notsosuperhub has issues and I presume that is what his comment may have been referring to.
Then again I could be wrong, only jb can say for sure.

Re: 50MB to 100MB upgrade
What is the monthly cost increase from 50 to 100meg. we are on VIP50 and it seems we are paying the current 100meg price which is what 50meg was if you see what i mean.
Without looking at a bill i think we pay about £45 for the 50meg but get the discounts on top.

if you have discounts, the only way to find out the price is to ring up. the prices on the website don't include discounts
