Hi

I have had 50 mb for a year now and have never had problems.

Over the weekend my connection was up and down (LS16). This problem occured for someone else in my area too http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/...16/td-p/438657

The connection has now been restored but I now only have one Downstream channel (i has 3 before)

Re: How many Downstream Channels should I have?

You have a fault and need to call the 50Mb Support line on 0800 052 0431 as you should not have one downstream on 50Mb.

Re: How many Downstream Channels should I have?

Cheers!

I'm going to annoy VM staff now and claim that means 4 channel capable kit can handle up to 112meg without any changes (and 8 channel kit 224meg)

If I remember correctly there was an outage in Leeds on Saturday morning, could be related.

I'm assuming you've tried the usual power on and off?

Re: How many Downstream Channels should I have?

Yeah rebooted a number of times. The other strange thing that is now happening is that it takes about 45 mins to establish a connection

error:

MDD message timeout;CM-MAC=00:22:68:f0:ee:b9;CMTS-MAC=00:00:00:00:00:00;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

Re: How many Downstream Channels should I have?

This might be worth a shot, login to the modem's GUI, click on Tools at the top and click Reset. On my old Ambit 256, I'd usually catch on to another channel.

Re: How many Downstream Channels should I have?

Sounds like a plan..
however I dont see any 'tools' option when I goto http://192.168.100.1/

Options are:-
•Information
•Status
•Downstream
•Upstream
•Upstream Burst
•Operation Config.
•Event Log

Thankks

It's right at the top of the page in the header in small writing.

He will have an unstable connection struggling to get a connection hence the requirement for a technician.

Not available on his modem VMNG300 ( MAC address tells me which model ) and reboot does the same.

I'm the first to say networks isn't my thing .. but I see a 7.24 as a high power level on 50Mb ..
