Large downloads hanging / dropping

Hey,

Long time lurker 1st time poster!

I upgraded to 30meg not long ago and got given the almighty superhub.. Not very impressed with it to be honest, I cannot get my PS3 wireless working with it and the wireless strength is pretty awful considering it's new tech. Anyway - real reason I'm posting is because I've just been force fed the new firmware, it crashed the modem so I get home from work and have to reboot to get everything working.

Now I have variable speed issues, I'm lucky to even complete a full speed test as the connection seems to give up. I'm trying to update my gfx drivers and the large (ish) file at 70 mb stops downloading and precisely the same point each time 20% or 19.8 mb. This will vary and may be .1 over or under. I've tried testing with other large files such as the test files over at thinkbroadband but seem to have similar issues there, the download will start off and then slow down or just freeze. I never seem to get a constant 3.5mb/s and this has been true since installation. I always put it down to hosts being rubbish but I'm starting to wonder. I've tried ping tests / packet loss tests which all seem fine, I'm at a total loss as to what to do now. Any help / advice would be appreciated.

Re: Large downloads hanging / dropping

Sounds about right for the plooperhub.

Your upstream power level could do with looking at though., it's very borderline high.
