Re: Problems!!!!!

My guess is that you have one of the devices set to use WEP and the other to WPA/WPA2.

WEP uses a hexdecimal key (and can also use a passphrase). This used to be a problem when vendors used different method for generating a hexadecimal key from a passphrase.

WPA onwards fixed this when (most) vendors agreed to a fixed way of doing this.

From what you have posted I assume your VM router is set for WEP and your PS3 is set to WPA. You need to change them both to use the same. WPA is preferred these days as it prevents the above confusion and is more secure.

Re: Problems!!!!!

YOu don't need software - you logon to the router via a browser and change it in their. Depending on your router the address might be differant but try 192.168.1.1 with the logon/password usually printed on the bottom of the router - or try default of Admin/virgin.

Can't help on PS3 as don't have one!!

Do you have anything else connected wirelessly to the router - if you do then that should give you an idea whether the router is WEP or WPA. If you do change the router then you will also need to change all devices connected wirelessly do it as well.

Re: Problems!!!!!

As Pog66 said try using 192.168.1.1 you type this into your web browser address bar, if not then try 192.168.2.1 or .0.1, one of them should get you into the router

Re: Problems!

Not much more we can do. The advice has been pretty good that you have been given.

I doubt Virgin would have given you a router these days with WEP enabled so assume it's WPA.

You need to dig out a manual for the PSP or ring Virgin.

If you Google VMDG280 PS3 WEP there is plenty of links to help. Some even on this forum from the past.

Good luck!
