Re: Best router for Virgin 50mb
Didn't you receive the free wireless router when you started on the 50mb tier, personally I don't rate the free ones vm offer 50mb customers but others may disagree.
Ive tried the netgear WNR2000 and the D-link DIR-615 one from VM both of which I had issues with, so I bought a Cisco/linksys WRT610N, as its a simultaneous dual band wireless N device so is pretty future proof, it seems to cope well with everything I can chuck at it, the wireless range is good, as I have mine set to medium power and the playstation 3 upstairs still get a 100% signal strength.
It depends on what you plan on doing with your wireless connection, if its just for general browsing, watching you tube etc then pretty much any wireless router will do, but if your planning on running multiple appliances, gaming etc, then you want something half decent.

The most I get through any wireless "G" device is about 20 to 30Mb which is ample for me, there are peeps on here who get the full 50Mb through wireless"N" devices so it is possible.

Try auto first and see how it goes, if its still pants try starting at 1 and working your way up to see which channel gives you the best results

Re: Best router for Virgin 50mb
Throw a dog a bone mate, give us a clue exactly what your problems are, what kit your using, how your testing the speed etc etc, in might actually help us give you the right advice.
