Samsung LE40B650T2 LCD - Freeview programme info display problem?

We've had our Samsung le40b650t2 TV for a few weeks now. It's connected to our VM box (source ext1) and to Freeview (source TV). We haven't watched Freeview much but think we've noticed something rather odd. We were both quite impressed by the Freeview on screen information display when I first set the TV up and seem to recall that each time we changed channels a programme information bar appeared across the top of the screen giving the name of the programme, basic channel info etc. for a few seconds. Now all we get is a small window on the top left of the screen which contains just the channel name. The only way we can get the full information bar to display is to press the 'info' button. We have 2 other freeview enabled TVs and both have a programme info bar which appears automatically for a few when the channels are changed and I can't believe the Samsung never had this feature so what is wrong? I wondered whether this feature has inadvertently been turned off but I've checked the manual and can't find any reference to how this is done/undone so can anyone help or are we both just going mad?....
