Exclamation Data plan dropped from current contract?

Hi there!

I thought I'd let you know that since Virgin has updated their account section of their site, my data plan has disappeared from my contract phone and it looks like I'm being charged 30p per day for 'net access.

I've searched around a bit and found a few tweets from people with the same problem so I thought I would ask if anyone here has the same problem.

When I look at my account pages on Virgin mobile or do anything else to get my current balance/allowances, there's no mention of data usage.

I would suggest you check this out and if you are affected, make sure you are not left with a larger bill :-S

Regards,
FactionAvatar.

Re: Data plan dropped from current contract?

Just a quick update:

My data allowance is back on but that 30p charge is still there (only thing it can be for is internet access). Normally I wouldn't quibble over 30p but if there's a large number of people affected, that would tot up to a pretty big amount.

Re: Data plan dropped from current contract?

They got back to me and apologised. However, the customer service guy who called did say that a number of people have called with the same problem.

I would check your bill carefully just in case.

Re: Data plan dropped from current contract?

They got me with this one too. My free virgin to virgin calls and Data allowances were not applied to my account (21/6/2010), despite the fact I got a text saying they had gone on. Phoned up at the cost of 10p, and was told they would show the following day (but that they were on my account). Phoned up following day (10p again), and asked why my mins had gone down, when I'd only made virgin to virgin calls. I was told the allowances were not on my account, and that I had been charged for data, and virgin-virgin calls had come off my 100 min allowance??????? They also said I should not assume the allowances had gone on, and to phone them again next month (10p charge again) to make sure they were on.
When I asked for this months charges etc to be refunded to my account, I was told I would have to wait until next month??????? This to me constitutes breach of the contract by Virgin, as I was not receiving the allowances I am contracted to, and paying for. I seriously feel like telling them to stick their blackberry up their arse LOL

Re: Data plan dropped from current contract?

Similar problem here too. I have unlimited internet on my package but for the last two bills I have been charged the daily internet access fee. Last month it was only two days but this month it was five days. The charges are occuring on the days immediately after the allowances are updated. On both occasions they have refunded the amounts immediately and have also refunded the 10p call charge.

Obviously I'm not happy that they are doing this but what really annoys me is their insistance that no one else has reported this problem.
