MSI CR610 Laptop and wireless networks not found problem?

Have a MSI CR610 laptop with Windows 7 home premium and the router is a Belkin F5D7634UK4A Wireless router. The problem is that it cannot detect any wireless networks. The wireless is turned on and i have a confirmation light on the laptop.
Any ideas anyone, i`m beginning to think there maybe a problem with the wireless connection and compatibility as it connects if i plug in the ethernet cable.
It won`t even connect to my wireless router which is a Netgear DG384GT.
Any ideas people. much thanks in advance.

Channels 6-11-13.
Maybe the two routers were trying to connect to arn`t compatible with the lappy or more probably Win7, It did cross my mind that maybe the wireless adapter in the laptop maybe faulty, but i feel its more of a software problem as it doesn`t find any wireless connections.

Re: MSI CR610 Laptop and wireless networks not found problem?

got the the same router as you try
Broadcast SSID
It is possible to make your wireless network nearly invisible. By turning off the broadcast of the SSID, your network will not appear in a site survey. Site Survey is a feature of many wireless network adapters on the market today. It will scan the "air" for any available network and allow the computer to select the network from the site survey. Turning off thebroadcast of the SSID will help increase security.

Re: MSI CR610 Laptop and wireless networks not found problem?

Sent the laptop back and it was replaced with an Acer one. Same problem still exists on the new lappy.
I`ve read somewhere that Windows 7 doesn`t like some of the encryption/security settings on some wireless routers and prefers some to others, is that correct?
Thanks for your help.

Re: MSI CR610 Laptop and wireless networks not found problem?

I have had windows 7 connecting to open networks, 64bit and 128bit wep, WPA and WPA2 - the problem is not a windows 7 issue.
