Talking How much did BT want to charge to install BB,

A pensioner says BT has quoted her more than £150,000 to install broadband to her rural home.

Never moan about £150 from VM

Did they say what speed she would realistically get from the connection?

How about areas that aren't on the network already, how much do Virgin want for those, 35 quid is it?

Swings and roundabouts really. It's a scary figure but not shocking when you look at what's needed to delivery the service.

They do not get a price just a tacit refusal if not in a cabled area.

Then BT at least give a price even if it's a ridiculous one

BT don't have that luxury, the regulator requires them to contribute to the costs and provide a price after their contribution.

Nothing to do with BT being dumb just their regulatory duties, something VM don't have to bother themselves with at the moment.

Nothing to do with BT being dumb but the regulatory body is being dumb, but no surprise there.
