Re: Would you pay...
If I had that kind of pocket change?
To say that I own one of the rarest classic cars in the world, yes.

Re: Would you pay...
He's worth about £90 million so yeah if that's what he wants I think he'll see himself as lucky that he's got it. So fair play to him. It's not like he's losing anything as it'll be an investment anyway.
Very nice car though.

Re: Would you pay...
You could give me a Ferrari, my old boss bought one (Magnum one) every other month it was being collected for engine work.

Re: Would you pay...
the thing about motoring is i like to drive back home and that's not going to happen in a Ferrari there a tad unreliable .
i would prefer something reliable with all the comforts built in ,dash board /carpets /sound system/air con/door handles etc etc

Re: Would you pay...
There was a good read in the Telegraph a year or two ago about the GTO`s and his own desire for one.
The £750 mentioned in there that somebody ultimately paid for one seems like a much better investment, even if it was a bit of a blunder on the sellers part.

Re: Would you pay...
Dead right. He now owns one of the most sought after classic cars in the world and it's also quite a smart investment. Every time a 250 GTO has come up in recent times the price has been pushed up.

Re: Would you pay...
I'l never have that amount of money so couldnt even afford one if I tried but if I did I still wouldnt buy it. I'd be too afraid of crashing it.
And to me a car is a car, I'm not bothered about the type of model it is.

Re: Would you pay...
This is certainly no small change for a car but assuming he is in no hurry to sell it there is no danger at all of him losing any money on the car, in fact quite the opposite I'd say.

Re: Would you pay...
The changes coming to Capital Gains Tax by our Fairer Society Coalition Government will take the cream off any profit, currently 18% CGT will become a persons normal rate which I presume would be 50% in Chris Evans case.

Yeah, but that's a bit 'barry' is it not? A bit like saying you have a 355 when it's really an MR2
With regards to the original question, no. Better value for money to be had in the sub 2K market in my opinion.
