Slow Internet - Low Downstream Power

Hi, I had my virgin internet installed on saturday, and I was receiving 13MBs on speedtest.net.

Since then my speed has dramatically dropped and I'm receiving about 512kbps.

I've checked the modem details, and I'm getting the following:

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 2
Downstream Frequency : 402750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5056.941 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps32Increment4
Downstream Receive Power Level : -2.5 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 34.3 dB

Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 2
Upstream Frequency : 29200000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QAM16
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 38.0 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

The engineer has been back out today and put on a "forward path equaliser of 8Db".. this hasn't worked and he believes it to be a network issue outside of his remit. He's contacted the network support, but that could take 2-3 days

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about this?
